Pretty productive day! Dad had a great time fighting rusty old rotors and pads, I had a great time cleaning the mold off all the upholstery (which I was too embarassed to take pictures of) Tore the motor down some more, got the old crappy turbo off and checked it out as well as made an attempt to take the wastegate off the downpipe. It was so old and nasty the bolts just broke off or stripped. The replacement turbo arrived this week but has way different housings, even though it was labeled as a K26-8. So more research will go into finding the correct turbo today. Also a nice new garage poster came in the mail that I thought I'd share.

In the first picture, is the car only resting on two upright pieces of 2x4? looks like it would be pretty gutsy..

It is pretty gutsy, my Dad did that in order to try and keep the car at the same height off the lift so the race car can still fit under it. It's still a hair too high so it really needs to be on proper jackstands, but I try not to nitpick when he's in the middle of fighting old stubborn parts
