I can break into a 944 in a matter of seconds so if someone wants to steal your car, it'll be gone. The quarter windows pop out so easily.

My car used to do this. Over the years dirt builds up in the lock cylinder and causes the lock pins to bind. You need to remove the door lock cylinder, clean it, and re-lubricate.

It's true - We were pulling parts off a 944 with no handles, Serge was in there faster than I could get the unlocked sunroof off.

Chris_924S was at a get together around Chicago and out of about 10-12 944/924s, his key worked in 2 or 3.

on the early 911/2, you have a 1/17 chance of opening another 911/2'res door, and the chances with the ignitions are almost as good.

one 912er was telling me about how his key to his 69 coupe (which isnt exactly in the best of conditions appearence wise but awsome mechanically) opens the door to one 912ers hopped up twin plug modified engine'd coupe (absolutly impecable and amazing performance wise.. will be in featured in excellence in the near future too!), also the restored coupe that belongs to the wife of the one with the twin plug, and another 912ers perfectly concourse restored coupe. all 3 of which would go for well over 30k each in the market today if ever put up for sale, which would never happen.. the cars are that good. seeing as its not hard to hotwire a 912.. thats a very scary prospect!

Yeah, my freinds 1970 vw bus key open my doors, not the igniton though. I think there was a thread very similiar to this a few months ago. Something like, "how do i break into my car"

Every year at 944fest I remind myself to try my key in some of the doors and forget. Supposedly 944 keys aren't that different...

With a small screwdriver you can open the door almost as quickly as with a key.
local police tolde me how. Original handles are close to VW items and these police men knew how they work. They explained the procedure to me and i opend the door in 10 seconds...
I will not tell the procedure here !
