Question Where to get odds and ends?

For example my car is missing the little clip that holds the end of the speedometer cable to the left front wheel bearing cap. Is this the kind of part that must be ordered through a Porche dealer?

My practice is... if it is made of plastic, I get a new replacement, either from a supplier or the dealer (Champion). If I'm dealing with a non-wear (within reason) metal part, I call Ian down in Pompano. (BTW, Ian sells both new AND used parts).

Champion seems to have reasonable prices, I've not dealt with any other except Suncoast (very nice people) and one in West Palm Beach who had prices just a wee bit on the high side.

What ever happened to Porsche Parts Emporium? The site is still up but I can't get an e-mail through. Are they/he still in business?

Joe, it's a standard circlip. you can go to ace hardware and pick one up.. as for the size, I'm not completely sure... but mostly for bolts and fasteners, unless they're really odd, you can go hit up ace for it and pick em up for a couple cents. good luck! as for parts, check out:

my experience is, little fiddly bits are either better from a dealer, or from here! A friendly little wanted ad usually hits! of course it is polite to become a member before bombarding us all!

I like www.partsheaven.com . They have never complained about too small of an order.
