Default My farewell to Porsche ownership

I'm leaving the Porsche scene temporarily as obligations are more important than pleasure. I'll be back when finances permit me - they're great cars (when they run)

Today I bought an e30 325is in mint condition. I couldn't pass the deal up as I knew I'd need something more practical in time for school this fall.

I'll post an ad for my 944 pretty soon. Don't worry, I'll still lurk around (if you guys want me to ).

I was wondering when you were going to post something about this. I saw all your adds. All posted in a row. I hear you on the practical thing with school. I never have time to work on my car, but when I do I pretty much fix everthing at once. So, it has been good to me since before graduate school.

Can't go wrong with the e30. Nice little car. You know you junk, lurk around. Maybe when you get out of the joint (engineering school) you can find a nice clean turbo 'round your parts for a good DE/weekend car. Late.

Well, I think it's an 87' Bimmer..and it's a 325..not like an M3 or something, so yea, I can see how it's more "practical." ...As practical as the Germans can make a car

Best of Luck and a speedy trip back to Porschedom!

BTW is there a set of wheels to go w/ those race tires?

Didn't S_TYPE just switch to a Bimmer as well?

What is going on here!

I am thoroughly disappointed. I hope you stick around just as much as you always have, Porsche owner or not. What will we do without your suspension knowledge and sarcasm?

Glad to see you are putting your future first though.

Serge, wise choice.

From a selfish standpoint, it's sad to hear this news. But, like you said they are just cars. They do not (should not) determine who we are.

(just don't get riled up and start dumping money into that Bimmer, OK? )

You wussed out. Glad you're doing something that makes you happy, hope you keep in touch through aim. Hopefully your bimmer doesn't cause you as much trouble, and thanks for proving there's no such thing as a cheap 944 (or Porsche for that matter). As if I don't have enough proof already..

Have fun.

Yeah, you dont NEED to disappear from the list. Once a Porsche nut...always a Porsche nut! When i needed a new daily car i really wanted a 911 SC or another 944. I was really really leaning for the 944 as I found an amazingly kept N/A that needed nothing for $2000 in the exact colors i wanted. Again though, being in school and running my own company, i needed something that held some large equipment and people on occasion. I don't think one of these cars would have worked for me as a daily car while in school either. I don't know i manage both, but im glad its worked so far. Good luck on your purchase! Those are fun cars as well, and pretty solid if kept!

You'll be back. They all come back. Except James Caan. And he'll be back.
