Default Car shell disposal -another one off to the shredder

No, it really wasn't worth saving this one. 85/2-automatic, too many things wrong with it, just a parts car. Some while back, some were asking about how to get rid of these shells, and other questions. It cost me $60.00 to have this hauled off (scrap price of $9.50 a ton right now). This eyesore is finally gone as of about an hour ago. One less 944 in the world.

Just did this to a 91 LeBaron GTC, it's a blast to chop it into little pieces. I have some pics of the LeBaron in the back of a 91 ford F150, looks kind of funny

We disposed of a 90's Pontiac something back on memorial day weekend. Our method was about 500 rounds of .50 Armour piercing incendiary tracer rounds shot out of a Browning M-2.

It burned to the ground

We once took an RPG to an Accord. Damn thing hopped about 5 feet off the ground before crashing back down. We used the shell to practise tossing grenades over and behind it. Never thought of using a .50 cal though. I wonder if there's another donor car out there.....

sharky47...you probably are cool nonetheless. My CO would have sent my pale white *** to the military can up here in Canada if he found out. Then again, it was my job to train the greenies on how to use the damn things. So I said to myself..."Self....how else other than at a real-world target?" I should have asked one of them to drive the Accord though. Then we would have had the chance to ventilate a moving target AND learn evasive driving manouvers at the same time. Ahh.....hindsight is so 20-20
And btw, we still use .30 cal's up here. The .50's are mounted on the really cool toys which they didn't let me play with until I was too old to enjoy them.

Hmmm, do yall use the LAW up there? Are you referring to the Browning 1919 .30, or something else? I figured yall would have M-249's and M-240's (drool). Havn't gotten to play with the M-240, but the Saw's are a kick in the pants, I killed an old washing machine with a 200rd belt out of one of those!

BTW, my friend and boss just bought this -

That looks like a Sherman, if I'm not mistaken. Only saw those in museums and on parade grounds when I was an xchange officer with the leathernecks in the grand republic to our south (as opposed to the grand republic to your north). We used Churchills and Crusaders in WWII. We don't have any battle tanks now. We concentrated on AFVs (and it's a shame. The M1A1 is SUCH a cool tank) and F-18's. To answer your question, yes, we do respect the Law. We're Canadians eh? I was referring to the Browning M2, sort of. Our .30's are based on the Browning M2HB-QCB (M2 Heavy Barrel-Quick Change Barrel) and are a lightweight version of the venerable M2 using 75% of the M2's parts and using an adjustable buffer for varying the fire rate, a lighter quick change chrome bored barrel with a flash suppressor, a different charging system and the addition of another trigger safety. It weighs 25 lbs less than the original M2 and the fire rate ranges from 550 to 750 rnds/min from a belt. It's air cooled, recoil operated and auto only. It can be mounted on a tripod or in pairs on your M63 AA mount. (We swap our maple syrup and bacon for some of your M63s). It's been chambered and bored to fire .30's for our grunts, 1 per squad. The .50's are used mostly on AFVs, but they can be dismounted and used by the soldier on the ground. It's a great weapon, when it doesn't feel like jamming.
Any chance your boss and friend acquired some rounds for that sucker? Just asking.
And forgive my ignorance, but Fredericksburg is in the southern US, no? And were you in the service, or is your knowledge self-taught?

Sharky, I still say you need a minigun. I wonder what the cost of operation per minute are?......

It's in Texas where it simply qualifies as serious home protection.

It is a fully restored Super-Sherman recently re-imported from Israel.

Man, out of all the firearms knowlege I posses, I have never heard of the .30 weapon you speak of. Sounds cool though, I think I need one!

I have no miltary background, most is self-taught. I attend at least a half-dozen machingun shoots a year here in Texas (machinguns are legal here with the correct paperwork) and I love every minute of it! Tomorrow I am supposed to go pick up some AK parts from the parkerizer. I am building from scratch one AK-47 sidefolder and one registered SBR Krinkov AK in 5.45mm. I just finished building a M-4 clone a few months ago. All my stuff is semi-auto because I can't afford the full auto stuff yet, but I do plan to purchase a suppressor or two in the next year or so.

I am in central Texas, I am surrounded by twisty, hilly roads too!

George - I lust after the M-134 so much it's pathetic. Unfortunatly I cannot shell out 300k for a transferrable one. Oh yeah, just ammo - not including wear and tear - would cost around $60 per minute to operate.........
