Are you guys planning on doing a scenic drive back, or just hi-tailing it on the highway?

In the years past people generally leave at random times and make a straight drive back I believe. We will be having a scenic cruise around Mansfield at the fest though!

All I can say is I can't wait. The next two days are going to seem like forever.

By sheer coincidence I'll be back in Ohio (Waterville, Toledo suburb) on this weekend. While I can't go to the fest (in Ohio for a wedding that's happening on Saturday afternoon) I'd love to turn a few miles with you all if you don't mind.

The 944 might not be available for me to drive (you try co-ordinating getting a car set up from 2,600 miles away) but I'll show up in some form of P-car.

Go into Wood County and take some of the roads out there that follow the Maumee River and the various creeks that funnel into it. There's an amazing road just downriver from Grand Rapids called Tontogony Creek Road that's amazing, just watch out for oncomings because of the tight corners and the fact that it's a one-lane. There's also Lose Road in rural Lucas county (connects Monclova to, well, nowhere) and it's got some nice corners too.

There's all kids of good **** out in the rural areas if you know where to look.

I can't wait for that blip. But, all I have to do now is wait...no more work.

For those who are joining us at Tony's - if you have any family radios (walkie-talkies), you might want to bring them. I figure they may be useful for intra-squad(ron) communication. I don't own or have any desire to own a CB radio...

I'm looking into renting a tow dolly for the weekend, so we can drive the van (to camp in) and pull the 944 behind it. I know it's gonna slow us down a bit, but from what I've read about the police enforcement for the weekend maybe that's not such a bad thing
Also, this allows the option of a tow back for peeps in our caravan should anyone have mechanical troubles (knock on wood!)

Where are all you people getting your hotel at for Friday Night? Some buddies and I want to leave friday morining and get there by the afternoon. We have reservations for Sat night near the fest but a quick change to drive down on friday leaves us finding a hotel in the area. Probably going to have to get one about 30-45mins from the fest Im guessing?

Dan - none in our group are staying overnight on Friday. We are leaving Saturday morning and meeting in Toledo between 9:00 and 9:30. See early posts for the game plan.

Brian - rather than renting a tow dolly - you can use my trailer. Let me know if that will work better for you. And by the way - no peeps allowed in our posse.
