Bill - we'd be glad to have you. As it stands right now - we're trying to get together in Toledo (Tony K's place) at about 9:00 AM on the morning of the fest.

It's not that I'm "against" anyone arriving Friday night, it is just that I only have 2 motel rooms and a chalet. We aren't allowed to camp on site that night. Next year (if/when) I'll negotiate for those privlidges. For those that want to squeeze in, I'm open for help. I just can't promise lodging to everyone who might show up. ::sorry::

Dan, I understand. I had planned on finding a hotel room for friday night. Which hotel do you have rooms at?

Lets see, I have 2 rooms at the Travelodge (at I-71/13) Fri/Sat for the 'public', Two rooms (just Sat) at the Amerihost (My family and Cuz's) and 1 suite Fri/Sat at the http://www.sprucehillinn.com/cottages.html. Yep, $1k in lodging for two frigging nights. The problem you will find is the nearby historic motorcycle races booked everything up. Some places triple their rates for that weekend, or make you book Thurs-Monday to get a room at the normal rate.
Here is some info in this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/184259-944fest-lodging-situation.html

I just check Travelocity, and the only rooms it is offering under $100 is up in Ontario (OH, not Canada) which is 20 minutes, maybe 1/2 hour from our location. Not ideal by any means. The lodging scene is grim. Sorry, but that was back in the beginning of February that they were filling up!

Nothing new to add. Just want to ask those planning to join us to review the proposed route (see first post). The plan is to avoid the cities and villages along the way - and travel some of the more interesting roads.

Tony - I'm sure you're right. I just looked for the most direct route that avoided the expressways and the towns.

There are plenty of good roads in the sothern part of the state. I'll be down in the Coshocton area this Saturday (for the Ohio Milk Run Rally). Too bad they're wrecking a lot of the really good roads with pavement.

Just over a week away. So who is in?

Plan is to meet at Tony K's place about 9:00 - 9:15 on Saturday.

* I guess that means Tony is in.
* Brian - you're on still, right?
* Vaughan?
* Bill Wise was looking for a ride - let me know if you still want to meet somewhere along I-75 so you can ride along.

Who else?

Scott,

YES......all systems are "go", in spite of the fact that our August 1985-built '85.5 apparently has early power mirrors so I initially ordered the wrong gaskets (for a "late" 944). Who knew?!?!?!?

I'm still a little iffy, unfortunately, but it is looking good; drove the turbo last night briefly, though I do still need to get it back together fully. At least it's functional, though I need to get some miles on it before I commit to driving it.

A friend of mine might be joining us, we'll see. He has a very nice, very original gemini grey 83 944 with sport seats, script door panels, and a build date of 6/82...(!)

Sounds like my '44 won't be the oldest there. (8/82)
