KLA Industries Strut Brace
KLA Industries is selling a Strut Brace for the 944 for $130 which is cheap compared to a racing dynamics one which is out of my budget. My question is does this thing do more for the car than looks ? What can I expect from the car with one installed ?

The KLA is cheap because it is cheap...and ugly.
This is good for a racer look or for racing. Gotta be cornering really hard to make a difference. Like squealing tires your head is stuck to the window 50mph around a city street corner hard.
Unless you're racing or doing SCCA stuff save your $ for a pretty one.

Do you know what else he has done to his car's suspension system? I agree that they are overkill on a street car with a stock suspension, but on a car that is tweaked, and the owner is looking for any small advantage he can get in a particular racing classification (whether it be PCA, SCCA, etc)......the KLA brace is a nice piece of kit. It may not be pretty, but it gets the job done.

Yes I do. I have one.
And I don't know the answer to the other two questions, the whole point to my post is to let you know your answer to him was based on an assumption. My post was not.
Shut up? Wow.

You get what you pay for. I happen to like mine for the price- no ,I'ts not sexy or sleek like the Racing Dynamics unit, but I can most assuredly feel a difference on aggressive cornering. It's not cheap either- read the material & fabrication specs on their website. a lot of math & practical application went into it IMHO. I feel KLA has some good ****!

Here we go again... :-(
To the point of the post... I have no experience with it, agree that it's but ugly (I'm not a racer - I'm a shine your car as it sits way to much and I mostly just shine it kinda Porsche guy), but I have read very positive reviews about the KLA brace for the money.
I've often thought about adding the racing dynamic one to my car but could never justify the expense when I know I don't need it for my weekend drives to the lake.

For a strut brace to make a difference, your suspension would have to be very fresh and buttoned down. In example, if all of your bushings are new, then perhaps it would be of value. If they are all newish and delrin or metal, then it would certainly be noticeable. Otherwise, you will be experiencing suspension geometry fluctuations a-plenty regardless of whether your strut towers are moving slightly or not. If cash is tight and your car has a stock suspension, start with new sway bar bushings and 968 castor blocks. You'll feel a bigger difference, and will need to replace these parts at some point anyway, so your investment is relevant regardless of the outcome. You can install these parts yourself with pretty basic tools.

They make a big difference on my cab, and while the KLA is great value for $$ I can feel the difference with the one I have know. (And I had a Cargraphic one on my old coupe, so I've got some good comparisons to go by).
