Local car show pic's.
Nice local car show today. Only 2 p-cars, mine and a 74 911S.
The guy was a huge Porsche enthusiast, talked about the cars for a long time and before i left he said he was glad i found the light.
There was a VW with porsche wheels and a nice interior restoration, i thought it had a pretty cool setup.
Anyway heres the pictures.

Interesting 911S. Never seen someone in a 911S run with a 930 tail. That tail is mounted WAY forward on the rear deck. Looks like its about an inch from the back window. Normal would be probably 3-4 inches. Im sure he didnt have much choice.

Put a cloth under while you do it, though because a little slip is all it takes.
I normally start in the upper left corner get that whole side and hook it at the bottom peak of the crest, then hook the top right corner and from there it is a struggle. Heating up the gasket helps, but it does take time. I had the same lip you do once I was done, so I used the jewelers screwdriver.

I know this is like the pot calling the kettle black...........but............
I really think that 911S would have been a much nicer car if it was left bone stock. That wing and aero mirrors, pimpy window tint, dash carpet, and bra/manzieredo not look proper on that car at all. Underneath all of that it looks like a very clean car.

He told me he changed the doors, something about water getting caught on the bottom of the original doors. Once he did that he got the mirrors.
According to him the previous owner did a 8K overhaul on the engine, he didn't want to put a new one in because he wanted the nr's to match. 74 with 78K, and i think he wanted in the high 20's for it.
I agree with the wing, it doesn't look good being to close to the window. In my opinion i think the car would be worth more stock without the upgrades.
Really nice guy though, knew alot about Porsches. Told me that the 356 was named from the building nr Porsche worked out of back in the day, told me a lot about the 911's, but knew NOTHING about the 944's. I told him i would give him a ride in mine (at full boost) but he declined not wanting to leave his car unattended.
