Default Carpet cleaner?

Tonight I was looking at some carpet cleaners, the aerosol ones with the brush on the top. Has anyone tried them? The only thing I've ever used on my carpet is a vacuum. Did they make a noticeable difference?

So, I guess just a household carpet cleaner will work fine?

When we got our (late) G20 the carpet was horrible. We pulled the seats and cleaned the hell out of the carpet. Turned out so good when a friend came over he asked if we had installed NEW carpet. I'll see if I can find out what we used. Worked great.

you can rent a steam cleaner for around 20$ with a little hand held upholstrey wand, those work pretty good with minimal scrubbing

I need to replace mine eventually anyway, the sun fading is pretty bad. I just thought some cleaner would help some for now.

griot's garage interior cleaner is great for getting grease, dirt, food etc. stains out of auto carpet, vinyl, and upholstery.

Default carpet cleaning

When I bought my '86, I removed the carpets and pressure wahed them after letting them sit overnight with carpet shampoo soaking. Looked like new.

I'm gonna try my moms carpet shampoo cleaner thing. Works wonders in the house, dunno why it won't work in the car.

becarefull before "removing" carpets

they are bonded down with some really sticky gunk !

the stuff I used was an AUTO-GLYMS product, it stank of ammonia.

basically a lot of elbow greese and sure you could use a carpet steamer, but be carefull

We have used our "Little Green Clean Machine" with Grease Eater and OxyClean. It worked miracles on 4 cars now.
