If you replaced the intake manifold gaskets, know they only go in one way due to the cutout for the fuel injector at the intake port. If you reverse the gasket, the "thicker" portion (circumferencewise, not thickness) will block the injectors. That won't cause too much problem but the thinner part of the intake manifold gasket sometimes "blow out" making a big hole between the intake port and engine bay causing a big vacuum leak and could cause the car to run like crap. The best test for this is to use a can of carburator cleaner with a straw and spray it where the intake manifold gasket is while the car is running. If the car runs better, then you have a vacuum leak there.

I did mine about 3 weeks ago. The number I have on my receipt is 206 919-0794. They got them on Wednesday and I had them back Friday morning by paying an x-tra $7.50...I was in a hurry, they usually ship back 2-3 day USPS Priority Mail. It's hard to beat that plus they give you the before/after results.

thanks steve i will probably send mine out today or tomorrow. also i might have a problem with the safcII and wiring. maybe a wire came loose or something. the injectors are only a year old and i hardly ever drive the car. maybe a month out of that whole time. think from the car sitting that injectors need to get cleaned and flowed?

also another thing when it tries starting it smells like fuel could it be getting flooded. i know when i was working on the manifold i set the injectors on a rag and it must have leaked fuel out because there where fuel on the towel. I am planning on sending them to that place and hope that fixes them.

Backfiring? Timing-related. The vacuum leak only compounds this running problem. Pull out the fuel pressure regulator air hose, and remove the gas cap, then try starting it. This will ensure maximum fuel delivery, and chase any vapor lock out. Start squirting brake cleaner around the intake, and head area, to locate the unmetered air entry. Reset the DME for 10min, by disconnecting the negative battery terminal first, and foremost.
