Default oil in the water reserve and Radiator Drain plug

Hi, it's been a while.

Today I was trying to get the 944 83' up to date in it's maintenance.
When I checked the water reserve I found it had oil. I freaked. Is this serious?

I decided to drain and flush the cooling system. After I drained the entire system, I was trying to place the drain plug back. It broke. Now I have to find a drain plug ASAP. Is there an apropriate replacement that is not plastic (a Porsche and it has a plastic drain plug!!!) Is there an apropriate replacement other than the original?

If you have oil in your coolant you need more than just a drain plug. Your oil cooler seals have gone south. Get the replacement o-ring seals and gaskets and flush the cooling system before you waste money on good coolant. Check your oil for water also, it's not likely but it can happen. Good Luck

The radiator drain plug is plastic with an o-ring. It's the o-ring that seals not the tightness of the plastic plug. You have to use the stock plug. If you put a steel bolt into the hole you will ruin the radiator. Much more $$$ than the plastic plug.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts
and/or cam chain and tensioner?

(EDIT)
I got the plug out. Read details in my thread. Worked great. Check your plug head to see if it has ledges and ridges....
