Talking WOW! Fresh Paint!!!!! -----UPDATE!!!!>>>> MORE PICS!

8am yesterday -- had a coke for breakfast, body work, bodywork, bodywork
12am -- 15min lunch break
3am ish ---- Finish almost all of the body/prep work, and get home from heading up to indiana for a paint gun

6am today -- wakeup, coke for breakfast
8am --- after working my tail off for an hour i hammer down and go to the paint store in indiana
9am --- Dan (XSBoost) shows up to help me for the day
9am- 11:45pm non stop work

result: killer paint job!

I don't know if it counts for my "first" paint job, but I did, ALOT of the work to get this baby done. And all of the hard work paid off. After some wetsanding and buffing this thing is going to be amazing.

Looks awesome Carl! I can't wait to see it in person. The parts I did see looked great. Getting excited yet?

Sorry I couldn't hang out for longer, I had to go see a friend before he moved out of town.

Body and paint work are a lot harder than people think. It looks like you paid close attention to details, congratulations on the hard work!

Looks awesome. I would do mine, but I don't have a spray gun Also, priced primer, paint & clear coat.... $700. Yikes!

Great job. Can't wait to see the finished product.

im about to embark on this same endeavor after the fest. looks like you are doing pretty well. i was wondering whether or not to remove the rear hatch, and i like your method of taping it off

get to wetsanding!! thats when the beaty REALLY comes out.. well, after the buffing and glazing and all that jazz

Looks really nice!

It also gives me hope for the future. Provided I still have the car, I suspect I'll have to repaint it again eventually. It's a Maaco paint job, so I know I'm simply not going to get another ten years out of it. I've done little repair jobs that came out looking pretty good, but nothing on the scale of doing the whole car. And that intimidates me.

But seeing other people doing it makes me feel a little warmer and squishier about the idea.

BB.
