Default Fuzion HRi Good, bad, ugly?

So I had a blowout this morning and need new tires. Going very cost effective, as this was an unplanned expenditure. Research has me looking at Fuzion HRis in 215-60-15. Any comments on these tires??

There is a big difference between the HRi and ZRi. The ZRi is a popular choice but I can't speak intelligently about the HRi other than Matt says no go on the turbo. You may get a way with it on the NA if it is a street only car.

The Fuzion Zri is basically a Bridgestone SO2 with a slightly different tread design. An outstanding buy.

The ZRi is NOT an S-02 with a different tread pattern. Please dont spread internet rumors.

On an NA the HRi might be a good fit, they are awfully cheap. If you want something a little nicer go to the Potenza G009

Thanks Matt. Was waiting for your input. This is a bone stock N/A that has really old Potenzas on it. What's the approx price range for the G009?

Sorry about spreading the rumour, Matt. I stand corrected and won't do it again. It came from someone who uses Fuzions on his Mercedes and 924S, and he had heard it "unofficially" from someone at Bridgestone. Bridgestone owns Fuzion, and set up the brand to compete with Hankook and Khumo without moving its flagship tire downmarket. Reminds me of the time that the government sued Bausch and Lomb for selling two identical contact lenses at different prices - one was called Regular and one was called Deluxe. I'm sure that the Bridgestone and Fuzion are very different tires.

I was looking at the Potenza G009's for my 84 NA in 215/60-15 and they were $65 from TireRack! I just bought some Fuzion ZRi's for the Callaway and I like them a great deal also!

I bought fuzion ZRi's in 225/50/16 and 245/45/16 for my 951, couldn't be happier. Very sticky tires. Seems to me there wasn't a big price difference between the HRi and the ZRi, but the guy said the tire compound was stickier on the ZRi and they were rated for a higher speed, which these will hopefully see For the price, (around $450CDN/set) you can't go wrong!

The ZRi does not and will not come in the stock 215/60R15. The HRi is available. The G009 should be around 70 bucks. If you need them tomorrow I can call a store and set up a deal for you. Let me know, I am headed to Seattle in the afternoon.

No problem, he just heard wrong.

Bridgestone owns Fuzion, and set up the brand to compete with Hankook and Khumo without moving its flagship tire downmarket.
Something like that. I am kind of an insider, so I need no explanation.

Bridgestone and Fuzion are very different tires.
You would be 100% correct, thy are very different.

Unfortunately, the ZRi don't come in 15's. That is why the HRi sparked my interest.
I don't track/autocross/drive in the rain (much).
