Anyhoo, Derek, thanks for bringing up this thread. Howard's pic and Cliff's info were helpful to me and I missed this thread when going through the AC posts (you're right, they are painful).
I'll probably be doing the R134a conversion soon, and from Howard's pics, it looks like I can refill from the top of the engine compartment (other places, they've been telling me you refill from underneath the left headlight area (driver, in the US) side. Which confused the heck out of me, since it looked like you refill from the top and I didn't see anything underneath.

Hello All,
Just out of curiosity. If I wanted to check my freon, What psi would be on the High side for an S2 and a low side for an S2. I'm going to try to jump the switch this weekend.
Thanks, Lee

The pressures the system runs at will depend on the outside ambient air temperature and the heat load on the system.
When you first start the A/C, the suction and discharge pressures will be fairly high. As the A/C cools the passenger compartment the pressures will come down.
Perhaps the best person to talk to is Griff at Griffiths 800-451-7225

There is no power going to the low-pressure sensor either.
When I press the A/C button in the car the rad fan automatically kicks on low speed. That's about it.

Okay I found all the diagrams in the world for our cars and hotwired the low-pressure switch to the relay so that when the a/c switch is activated it sends power directly to the compressor (while maintaining all the safety cut-off sensors in-line). I'll leave it like this until I can take apart the fuse box this week.
