Seat rail bolt woes
Well after driving around for 2 weeks without a pass. side seat, ive decided to put it back this weekend. Only trouble is, half of the bolts taken out are stripped to hell. I need to know the size of the bolts that hold the seats down.. I took one of the better looking bolts over to OSH and to Virgils, and both didnt have it. The guy at virgils said that the thread is a 1.0 pitch and all they had is 1.25..
and in my previous post someone told me that they are allen heads
6 mm x 20mm but is the head 6 mm or the thread? cuz i remember the head being a 6 mm allen, but what about the thread. And could i pull off using hex heads? would the correct size be the m8 x 20mm 1.0 pitch or 1.25 pitch? and i found this site, which one would be my best bet to fit and hold?

any other place i can get them from? the ones i saw at the hardware stores were ugly black.. not that it matters too much, but yea...
TIA

You can use hex heads. I can't remember the bolt size or thread pitch, but the local Lowes store had the same size/pitch/length in stock with hex heads. I just took the allen bolt in with me when I was looking for the replacements. I used hex heads on mine when installing the aftermarket seats. Best of luck to you.

According to PET, M8 X 20 is correct. Don't know the pitch, but standard for an M8 is 1.25.

Stable Energies (www.stable-energies.com) has the proper bolts for you. They ship. They are big supporters of the Porsche club.
