Default The cost of cars

You guys keep complaining of the costs over there. Have a look at these:
http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/Deskt...ias=carpointau
My 944 cost $AUD11500 from a private seller. It is insured for $14500.
Check out the milage figures on these beasts. On the same site there is a 924 with 38000km!!!! on the clock. One owner.
Enjoy

No kiddin' huh? Only problem is ours don't have RHD which I believe is required in Oz / NZ for registration. This could also go a long way to explaining the disparity in prices due to supply limitations.

Keep in mind also that 1 AUD = .7615 USD currently.
However, I'm glad that I can buy a 944 here although I wouldn't mind living down under. :

I believe that the Northern Territory and the ACT are the only 'free' places to register LHD vehicles. The NT may be attractive ecause of the lack of speed limitations on the highways!!

Dunno if you'd survive here.
There is no tipping culture, like the states! If I give a cabbie 50c or $1 from my change they are surprised and delighted.
Dunno what wages are like in the states now, but, I get $22+/hr in a middle level job. No contact with public.
What about there? Last time I visited, lots of people depended on tips.
