i need some help..

I was curious what things on my car i should have checked, replaced or fixed before i take a trip..i am going to arizona in september and would like to take my car down, but if its not ready ill take something else..

anyway, what things should be checked? besides oil, and coolant, big stuff that could really hurt me on the way down..

if im not clear enough on what i want, just tell me....
