Default Turbo Phone Dials

I am looking to upgrade my 15'' phone dials to 16'' phone dials, and I just found a set on ebay for a buy it now price of 450 dollars? Is it worth it?

The buy it now price isn't bad, but shipping would from Wisconsin to California would be nearly as much as the price itself.

Here is the link:

Shipping would be brutal. The black is interesting and the wheels look to be pretty nice, but I think anything more than about $350 would be too much given the cost of shipping, tires, balancing, etc. To get these out here and meaningfully ready to use (new rubber on 'em, balanced, etc.) it'd be close to a grand when all is said and done. . .

I just bought 2 sets of wheels and had them shipped from Boston to Cincinnati Ohio and it was about $150 for each set through FedEx. Each wheel and tire was about 38.5 lbs.

I have a set of phone dials, just refinished and in flawless condition. New Yokohamas on them, balanced w/ tape weights on the inside. Off of an '86 951. I plan to eBay them today or tomorrow, so if you like make an offer. FWIW I'm in CT.

Stripped wheels will only weigh about 18-20 lbs for the 7 and 8 x 16" PDs, so you can figure out the shipping that way. My guess is it will be around $100 for all 4.

Like Jason, I had a set of 18s shipped from MA to MN with tires (so weight was around 50lbs per whl) and it was under $150.

86 Offset 16" PDs seem to be worth more than the late offset PDs. There are fewer of them and more demand from the guys that want them for their early offset 944 n/a's.

Just wheels/no tire should be no more than 75-80 dollars with Fedex. In a 16 it might be more like 65 dollars. Ebay is one of those places where great deals are usually offset by people raping you on shipping.

Agreed. (plus they look better than the late offset PD's, IMHO )

I just paid $500 for a set of late Turbo Dials, but they had tires on them and the guy was local so I picked them up in person.

I would think $400 to be a fair price.

Aww heck. If they're early offset maybe I'll get 'em for my 944. I'm sick of having the wrong offset wheels and by the time you get spacers, you're already sunk for about $300 or $400 anyway. . .
