Outstanding. I can't get tired of pictures of your car. Makes me wish I could go into a showroom and buy a new one like that. It shows what a timeless design the 951 was - especially with your "updates". Have you written a single thread (or maybe a book!) where you have documented all the steps you have taken since you bought the car? I'd be very interested in the story of the 968 hatch, handles and mirrors, the details to get turbo twists on an 86, the paint job, etc. Prices of each mod would be great too if you were willing to share that info. How many miles does your car have on it and is the engine all original except for the MAF?

Note to self: start looking for the right 951 to start such a project

Wow what a car! Avoid the rock chips with the clear 3M adhesive stove guard. I love the 951's and yours may be the nicest i've seen.

A short rundown.. I will try and go more in detail in the next day or 2.
I bought the car last spring from an older man in Georgetown Georgia. The car was all stock with 73k on the clock. Every reciept and even the origional window sticker. I found it on Pelican's web site. My friend SamGrant951 had been trying to get me to buy one for like the past 2 years. After a little dealing with the owner I overnighted him a check. The next week I paid a driver $850 to go and get it and flat bed it back to me. I was some what of a fool b/c I didnt even see the car in person. He did send me pictures of the car though. I got the car the next week and dropped it right off at my local mechanic to get the timing belt and water pump changed out. I dont think they had been changed in like 4 years. After all this I had $9000 in the car. Thats right. $6500 for the car. $850 for the flat bed and $1650 for the front nose job with all the fluids being changed. And then came the fun stuff. $9 grand in plastic surgury and the car turned out great.

Judson951 I need to get with you sometime regarding the 968 hatch and splitter. We talked at the Indy GTG and I think I have got my wife convinced to get one or the other for my B-day present in June. Ha Ha. Your car is what closed her on the idea. Looks Great man!!!

Not much besides the autothority mass air flow. I have a couple of things in mind though.

Very pretty car. Nice job!

Now go out and track it!!! Don't be afraid of a few little rock chips! It adds personality! (Yeah, my car's got ALOT of personality!)
