Default 16' Phone Dials

I am looking to upgrade the 15'' phone dials on my 86 944 with a set of good condtion 16'' phone dials. How much would a set of 16's be worth? Also if I buy 16''s, how much could I sell my 15'' phone dials (powder coated, w/ center caps, in excellent condition) for?

As long as your thinking about phone dials... what is the best finish I could get on them. I am looking for the gunmetal center with polished lip on my alpine white 944.

Thanks.

Edit: 16 foot phone dials apparently don't exist.

16 foot phone dials? wow... you could park another car under it!

Sorry, had to do it.

if you are going for 16" phones, if your car is early offset i would go for 1986 turbo phones (early offset). They havea deeper lip, the later phones are ugly IMO. I would say you could get some early phones for 300-400 in good shape. The 15 inch phones you could probably get 300, maybe 400 in great shape without tires? Not sure that may be pushing it.

realistically you should be able to get the 16" dials anywhere from $400-1400 depending on their condition. 16" early offset phonies are hard to come by. 15" should fetch 200-500 depending on their condition.

I dunno about early offsets, but I've obtained late offset 16" w/o rubber in decent shape for $250 down here.

As for color scheme -- white phones!

There is a set of 16'' phone dials on ebay right now with 16x7 offset on all four wheels, which I believe is the offset of 15'' phone dials that came with my 86. Would they fit my 86?

from the looks of the wheels in that e-bay add I'd have to say they are 65mm offset, which would requires massive spacers. I'm almost certain about this especially since these wheels have 928 p/n's.

16 is the diameter, 7 is the width, offset should be EJ23 for "early"

Standard 951 set is 16x7 on the front, 16x8 on the back.

Here are late offsset 16" Phondials on my '87. Yeah, the early offset Turbo PD's look much better, but you can't put those on a late car...well, at least notwithout some major wrenching I hear. Anyway, you wanted a look, here it is:

Finding a set of early 16's for under 400 is a good deal. They're not as common as youd like them to be.

I have a set of early offset PDs that I would be willing to part with. Pretty good shape - not perfect, but definitely above average. I believe the rubber on the rear tires are still good. Send me a PM if you are interested -

I purchased my 1st Porsche back in Feb, and am in need of one (1) 7" Phone Dial, early offset #951.362.114.00 due to the PO's impact with a curb. It is slightly out of round. Is this the only part number that will work? Is the # 951... the only thing that I should be looking for, or would there be other early offsets from other cars that would work ie. 924s??? Being a newby to Porsches, I'm ignorant of what is interchangable between the various models.

Thanks,
Scott
