Strut Tower Brace

Form what people have told me they can help in track situations by decreasing body flex but if you want ti get better handling you might want toi consider sway bars and shocks first. I have no real first hand experiance with them but that is what people i have asked have told me.

It's funny - no one has ever stepped up and provided an in depth analysis of strut tower braces. I'm sure they help??? What's more funny is that the 944 Spec guys on the west coast all run an assortment of brands. Not one stands out from the others, however, 300 bones is way to much to spend. I bought one for 120 from some place and it was performing at the track adequately.
On a Pod Racer though it may be worth it to keep those turbines at the same attitude.

I have the KLA strut brace. Reasonably price as opposed to the more expensive ones from Weltmeishter and Brey Krause. I feel the front end to be a bit tighter with it on, though i have no proof to back that up. Its just how i percieve it. Could just be the placebo effect.
Personally if you want to make any noticeable differnce to your cars suspension, like GiantViper said, dpending on your car model you should go with larger sway bars. I changed both front and rear bars. Originally i had 21.5mm front and no rear sway. Upgraded ot the '86 951 bars which are 24mm front and 18mm rear. Night and day difference!

IMO,
It would be up to someone to actually measure the changes in cornerig using the different models and types to really come to an edg-u-ma cat'd decision either way.
I don't think that it has been discussed. Do I think that it helps?? Well.... I am not edg-u-ma cat'd enough to say.
Could someone who has tested various models on the "same" setup otherwise would/could pipe up.
Other than you George as we know your resources "A little light humor there."

I've felt a difference in my cab, which does have upgraded springs, sways, and the BK underbrace. And I may be the only person to have tried three different ones-KLA, Cargraphic, and Dynatech. I'm running the Dynatech now-KLA is great value for $$$, Cargraphic is $$$ and needs the vanity cover to be removed to fit.

I bought one for my 944. Coming from a VW background, I decided that all cars would benefit from one of these. In practice, though, I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, at least in street driving since the 944 was much stiffer than the old VWs. I'd say that I noticed a difference, but that could easily be psychological.
Oh well... at least it looks nice!
