Hey, great to know there is another sociable rennlister around here. I have seen at least 5 other 944's as well as several other p-cars in the area. I was surprised to see so many Porsche's in such a small Mid Western town, but then I realized that we are right on the Purdue campus so we have a rather diverse population. Let me know if you ever want to get together.

Hey, I have been away from the forums for awhile but there were a few Lafayette folks on a year or so back. I live in Lafayette, looking for a new 944 since I sold my 83. I am keeping an eye out for post 85 944 for a daily driver. And BTW old bay rocks!

Two weeks ago I saw a red 944 with phone dials for sale on County Road 140. I drove by that house yesterday and saw 2 red 944's on the property. The next time I go by, I look for owner or a for sale sign to get you some information.

Man those look good! Did you do anything special with them or just toss them in some old bay and grill them?

Thanks for looking out on those. I will have to check them out. So far all the ones I have looked at locally have been in pretty sad shape. I renewed my Rennlist membership, keeping my eye on Ebay, and looking for a new summer ride! I have been P-car less for almost a year now and with the nice weather approaching I am getting anxious to get back in a 944.

Thanks
Tim

Tim,

Great to see you post! It's always AWESOME seeing the 'ole 83 in your avatar. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any more pics of her? You sent one right when you sold her, but I ended up losing it. I would really appreciate any you could send.

That was still the best car I've ever owned.

In my opinion, steamed shrimp or crabs without Old Bay is a waste of perfectly good sea food. The way I make the wings 1 (optional) My wife will boil them so the meat will almost fall off of the bone. This is optional because some people like the meat to have a little more texture. 2 Drain the wings and then dump them into a one gallon bowl. 3 While warming the grill to 250 F (usually lowest setting), cover the wings with Old Bay (a lot) and mix it up. All sides need to be covered in Old Bay. 4 Grill the 1st side for 10 to 15 mins, turn over and grill the 2nd side until the skin is golden brown (about 10 mins). Set yourself up with some ranch or chunky blue cheese dressing for dipping and a good beer of your choice then enjoy. Hey, I'm hungry now.

Man reading this thread does make one hungry. I may have to try that recipe tonight.

Nice to hear from you Micah, I will have to see what I can dig up. I know I have a few pictures lying around. I have mostly film pics but I can scan a few in. So far its still the best 944 I have owned as well (the first one will always be special, isn't that what they say?)

Lafayette is close to Sharidan. I know of a red turbo there that is quasi-for-sale. I've talked to him twice about it and the car is pretty nice and if I remember correctly, the price was fairly low.

I don't have his contact info, but if you're familiar with Sheridan, there is an intersection just west of highway 31 where 4 roads come together at odd angles, near the park. If you go northish from there towards the high school, you will pass the car on the left not long after that intersection.

If I remember right, it was in the $4k-$6k range.
