I had one replaced on my '83. It was $211 including tax installed at my place of employment. It has a slight tinting to it at the top. The company I used was local to Dayton, OH (I believe). I had quotes over $500!!! So calling around is definitely worth a few minutes.

I replaced the windshield on the 83 last Summer. It came to about $225. The original guy that came to the house wouldn't touch it because he said those metal frames are a real bitch to remove if there is any rust on the clips. I ended up taking it to a shop recommended by the local Porsche dealer and left the car. FWIW, the tech said that the mouldings are very hard to remove without damage on the early cars and should not be done by a mobile installer. Mine came out fine; it's not the original Sekurit German glass though.

Thanks for all the response. I'll make some calls Monday and see what I find in the Athens , Georgia area. This all started when I purchased a "parts car". Suddenly, I'm a 2 - Porsche guy!
