Northwest people: Any interest in a Front Engine Fest 2005?
The Front Engine Fest that we did last year was (I think) a great sucess and a lot of fun, except for one unfortunate 944-Meeting-Ditch accident, and I think Travis did a great job organizing it. Turnout was an excellent 25 or 28 cars, all front engine watercoolers.
I think it would be great if we could do another one this year. If Travis doesnt have time or energy to take it on, ill be more than happy to organize this years event. I figured id get this thread posted up now, so theres time for input and planning .
So what would you guys like to see done differently, if anything at all? Some things that have come to my mind...
-Route change? Could possibly involve more or less miles covered.
-Lunch/brunch location same or different? Hells Gate is a nice place, but this does tie in to the route one.
-A two day event??? This could be done several ways. This could involve those wishing to go camping being able to do so, and the non outdoorsy types could hit up a hotel in a town nearby. This would give us the option of a party or something This would also allow for a longer route, a scenic route, things along those lines. Myself, id be up for this, but I like camping and all that.
-A date change?
Those are the things that have come into my head, however im obviously not going to force anything on the group
Discuss away!!

I'm in!!! Loved the article in Timberline and this is a great opportunity to get to know other members on this board. Just give me another week or two to find the current drain on my 944 and to get the secondary fan to work and I'll finally be drivin my 944 after 7 months!!!

Well of course I'm in!
I was wondering when a thread like this would pop up...thanks for taking the initiative, Brian.
Rich, i really like the idea of a kits/jericho show n shine (not only because its like 4 blocks from me! ), it would be a great scenic place for photos with a Vancouver backdrop.
We have to keep in mind crowds (BEACH), time of day, distances etc.
What about Harrison Hot Springs or something? Furry Creek? (Amazing breakfast there...)
Looking forward to it!
BTW last year's turnout was incredible, let's get EVEN MORE people out this year! One guy in a 928 came all the way down from Alaska. And we had BC, Alberta, and Washington.
Anyone from Oregon/Idaho or further???

I had a good time with it last year, and might be interested in another!
I had my platinum car up there. Not the one in the ditch though. I never heard how he ever faired out with the car after he got it home. Maybe it will be a little drier for the next one.

I'm definitely up for it again! It was a great time last year. My preference is more of a drive than a show, my car's parked most of the time, it wants to drive
Maybe do the Big Loop: Whistler, Lilooet, Cache Creek, maybe Merrit, Hope and back. It's a long drive, but there're lots of great roads to exercise on.

Damn right it'll be in Canada! Possibly in Seattle but there aren't as many cool drives in that direction.
IMO the Duffy lake loop is a must. We could descend upon a greasy spoon in Lilooet for lunch and somewhere in Vancouver for dinner.
