tire touching rear fender

I change my 15 inch wheel to 16 inch original phone dial rims in my 1989 944 with 225/50/16 tires and it touches the rear driver side fender whenever i get
into a bump /dip....I recently had the rear shocks replaced with original bogey
a year ago.any suggestions????

Maybe rear suspension is soft? 225's should be no problem..
Have you checked the fender to tire difference from drivers to passenger side?

Yes, this would be my guess. It sounds like you have early offset wheels on the late offset car.

The 16 inch phone dial rims are indeed from a 1986 944 turbo.If that does it
