Umm I think he's referring to a TEC III type setup. I have no clue as to what it cost or how hard it is to maintain. Basically a computer usually a laptop replaces the stock stuff and is fully tunable.

There are two brands that are commonly used on the 944s MoTec and Electromotive. The Electromotive Tec3 is popular and less expensive than the MoTec but has less features. Both are stupid expensive on otherwise stock or mildly tuned cars. Definately not worthwhile on a street NA.

Spend your money elsewhere.

OK944, I'll have feedback on the Apexi S-AFC Select soon.

GUIDO...you don't want/need a stand-alone system. Forget about it.

Hey Sean, your running a S-AFC right now? If so that makes me warm and fuzzy with the thought I might be able to get an E-manage to run adjusted fuel maps on one of these, then of course leading towards me throwing a couple PSI via an Eaton M90.

There's no thing as a simple fuel-computer. I've had great success with the Apexi S-AFC-II interceptor. Does semi-3D mapping with LOADxRPM reference points. Really fast to make adjustments in 2-3 seconds at a stop-light...

"my mechanic had one he try sale to me in 1600 dollares but i want to see if i can get it less expensive here in usa with a company ??"

That price may make it a DTA or Autoronic system. Don't forget to add in $$$ for a new harness, crank-position sensors and triggers, cam-position sensors & triggers. Not to mention the labor in installing it. It'll also need a couple thousand dollars in dyno-tuning as well. In the end, you're looking at around $5000 at least.

And the power and performance will be identical to an appropriately programmed stock Motronic system. That's because if you're a piston sitting in the combustion chamber, you have no idea what is turning on and off the injectors and dumping the coil. It could be an aftermarket EFI system, the stock Motronic, or a chimpanzee flipping toggle-switches by hand! As long as all three systems turn on/off the injectors and fire the coil with the same specs., power-output will be exactly the same...

The system that I'd really like to see is a Palm-based EFi system. Just an adaptor harness to hook it up to the car, then everything is done in software. Then when you arrive at your destination, you just take it with you. Serves as an anti-theft system as well.

I ran a nice Greddy E-manage setup when I turbo charged my Impreza RS and was in love with it since it had a support tool in which to program 16x16 maps on my laptop. I also installed a S-AFC on a WRX and wasn't as impressed for the mere fact I had already worked so much with my e-manage.

I don't suppose you did some kind of write up on installing the Apexi unit. It was straight forward on a WRX, figure it probably would be with a pin out diagram on the 944.

Did you ever see the Utec's with the Game Boy Advance adapters?

Sorry to bump an old topic, but has anyone had luck with e-manage on the 944? Does anyone know even if it even works with the 944 AFM, wiring (early car)?

Thanks
Mike
