PM me with more info and more pics. My neighbor is looking for a P car, and yours fits his criteria.

Nice car, but I think you're asking WAY too high if the a/c and cruise don't work. Both can be buggers to fix (ask me how I know!)

Good luck with it!

Porsche-o-phile; ha-ha!, so what do you think is a 'fair price'?! ("way too high") It's got super-low mileage and all the options you'd want in an '86. Sounds pretty good to me! How often do you see that low of mileage 951s?, WITH: lsd, fuchs, records and maintenance?

Cruise is probably the control box, and is an easy fix. A/C can be more problematic, but not a *huge* problem. Fix both of those, and I think his price is in line. He's got a very desireable option list, and low mileage unmolested cars are getting MUCH harder to find.

Regards,

Nice car, sorry to see that you are selling.

One of my good friends had an 83 944 in Sapphire Blue Metallic. Pictures on the internet do not do that color justice. It looks very nice in person. One of my all-time favorite colors and fairly rare. Some days it looks grey, somedays it looks blue, somedays it looks silver. Black wheels set that color off perfectly.

I think that is about the right price for that car, provided that the cruise and the A/C aren't too expensive. The problem at that price level is that you will get a lot of buyers looking for a garage queen, that are not DIY guys and are prone to paying big $$ to have everything perfect. They will try to nickel and dime you on that price based on those two things and any other little nitpicky thing they may find.

Stick to your guns, you will find the right buyer.

I dont think its too high. Ive seen haggard 951s with 140,000 miles go for damn near $9,000. A cracked dash will see you back $800. Add $500 premium (at least) for the Fuchs, relatively obscrure color (not red, black, or white) which is probably worth another $500 in ownership equity, belts and pumps done not long ago ($1500), low miles ($1500-2000). Granted AC is $600. Youll have a much easier time replacing A/C than finding a car without a dash crack though.

I think you are right where you want to be. And without having done a lot of modifications, you wont take a bath on those. Someone loooking for a car they can show at concours would probably jump at this. They like cars that are very close to completely stock.

Its in the buyers interest to steal the car from you. Doesnt mean he should.

Sapphire Blue is one of the prettiest 944 colors. I've seen excellent low mileage cars for under 9k, but it does depend on the region. Good luck with the sale.

I got what appears to be a great deal on my 89 S2 with 54k. I put $700 into the belts & cam pad, then bought tires, then there is the bad amp, the scratch on the rear quarter, the small dent on the wheel well of the front, etc. Make the car perfect and the car is suddenly it cost between 11 and 12G.

Well, from what I read here it isnt worth much more than 9G. Maybe I got ripped off!

Paying a 2k "premium" often translates into a 4k "discount"

I am with UD on this one.

Title should read "fourth Porsche=sell the kid...."

Good luck with the sale. Depending on the local market, your price seems pretty good.

Well, I paid $6,500 for mine - perfect dash and seats - tires brand new (Yoko ES-100s), interior is immaculate. Paint is overall good - 9.0 out of 10 (some rock chips on the nose and one thin spot on a front fender, but otherwise perfect). My a/c and cruise didn't work either at the time of purchase, so that's a straight-up comparison. I had to change the a/c compressor clutch pulley after I bought it because it was siezing and snapping alternator belts, but that was a weekend and a $200 permanent fix. Big deal.

The only other major difference I see is the LSD. Do LSD and slightly better paint justify a difference in cost of $6,500? I think not. That's all I'm saying. A PERFECT turbo-s might command that kind of money, but even that would have to be exceptional. It's priced high.

Low miles or not, a 19-year old car will need things, and $13k does seem on the high side. I've seen Turbo-S cars with similar miles go for close to this!

Regardless, good luck with the sale!

POP, keep in mind that SoCal seems to be one of the cheapest 944 markets. At least from what I've seen.
