Default Blue hose help

I need to get my car running TODAY, can I substitute regular fuel line in place of the blue hose (brake master to clutch master)???

Is fuel line brake fluid compatible??

As a stop-gap it will work, but order the blue hose and replace when possible.

My car had the fuel line in place of the hose when I bought it from the previous owner (I don't know how long he had this "fix"). But I replaced it for peace of mind.

If you leave it on too long it will turn your brake fluid black, so you will probably want to change out the fluid after you replace the hose with the factory replacement.

I am worried about hose deterioration. But it's not a job I'd like to tackle more than once, if you know what mean...

I can't find any web info on silicon vs. brake fluid compatibility.

If you can run to your nearest VW dealer, they should have the same hose. Any near by foreign (european) auto parts stores? Sometimes it will be yellow or gray there, but still same hose.

I went to the auto parts store and told them that brake fluid would be passing through it, and they were able to find me some hose that they said would hold up. A year later, the fluid is still nice and clear.
