Jerad thank you for the help finding out the history.

The car was bought 7/10/92

On 09/01/92 there was a junk title issued

On 09/03/92 It shows the car was repossessed.

On 05/27/93 There was a title or registration issued. But this time no Salvage.

Funny How they washed the title in Kentucky.

As I was reading this I was thinking that august is hurricane season, yep, hurricane Andrew in 92.

if it is cheap enough try it. you can always part it out.

Damian, how much would it be worth without the salvage title?

I don't think you can go wrong for 5k if the ppi doesn't turn up much of significance. Heck, what's the engine and tranny worth alone? For 5k I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Yeah, as I said, water damage can make some mean gremlins come out in a cars lifetime. But for the money it would be hard to pass this thing up because you could easily part it and make your money back and probably then some.

That car was on the road less than 2 months before it was totalled. Given that the car probably cost $50K+ back then, the damage must have been pretty substantial, keep that in mind. But for $5K it is easily worth it, just for parts alone.

For $5K it is a good buy.

The top can be operated manually.

The parking brake can be adjusted or perhaps it needs some parts.

The drivers seat or its electronics can be replaced for <$500.

The AC could be expensive to fix, but you can always open the top (manually).

Sounds like a lot of fun for the small investment!
