Default New Info A/C problem

Whenever I put on the a/c the fuse blows. What would cause this?

I would unplug the 12v wire just before it gets to the compressor, then see if the fuse blows. If it does not blow then I would guess you have a clutch problem. If it still blows then you probably have a short somewhere.

Dan,
The wire goes in the the compressor, I think it is black. To find the connector just follow the wire out of the compressor and about 8 to 12 inches up the wire you will see the connector to unplug.

I did this and the fuse still blows. Where and how should I look for a short?

Can the short be under the dash by the switch?

I'm having the same problem but haven't checked the AC clutch yet... need to soon as temps are rising here in Texas!
