Unbelievable! Here is an auction that has a performance chip with a buy it now price of $28.48. The crazy part is that this guy believes that one size fits all! He says that the "Porsche 5BR2" chip will fit the 911, 928, 944, 968, and 986. And to think that this seller's feedback rating is 98.7%. Judging by the completed auctions history, a few people have actually bought one of these. Poor, uninformed Porsche owners...

It's just a resistor like some of those boxes out there just tricking the computer's AFM input... about $1 in parts will make the same thing and yes, it would work in almost any car, not just Porsches

Ahh... I see. I was thinking that it was a one-size-fits-all ECU chip upgrade. I now see that it is, in fact, a resistor. I didn't even know that such an enchancement device was available. I think I will stick to professional, custom made ECU chips that are specific to my vehicle.

just for giggles I tried a 5 dollar resistor on ebay (still a ripoff but i am lazy and odnt want to find it myself) and the instructions were horrible, and I dont think it really worked, maybe i did it wrong? But I didn't feel anything.. This was advertised for the rover.. its a scam.

Sign me up...

Seriously, I think those items would have as good a chance of selling as these chips...
