Nope, I would "suggest" that you solder and heat shrink the wires though.....
P.S. Dont forget to slide the heat shrink on the wire before you solder it....

I read that you are not supposed to solder it. I read it t needs to get air through the connection. Doesn't mattter though I can't get it out of the exhaust pipe.

Try removing it while it's hot, so the metal has a chance to expand a little. Using the correct tool (22mm or 7/8" crow's foot/O2 wrench) will make it easier.
As for the splice, use bullet connectors and heat shrink tubing. I just did it today, it took me about 25 mins start to finish.

I just did this recently and bought the kit from paragon and it had complete instructions and the POSI locks that you use to crimp them together. BTW if you look at the stock O2 sensor wire about and few inches from the connector you can see that there is a hole in the black wire where the air is supposed to go.

I used mini wire nuts...gonna inspect them when I get my cat. pipe welded...I couldn't imagine soldering under my car on jack stands...maybe with a micro torch and another pair of hands...

jeeper, if the O2 sensor you bought dosent have the posilock connectors already, go out and buy them. Makes things way easier, also they can withstand the heat of the engine and exhaust. Im pretty sure they sell them at Walmart.

It doesn't matter that I got good wire connectors because....I HAVE STRIPPED THE O2 SENSOR!!!!!!!!!!!
Now don't know what I am going to do. Any advice now?
Should have ridden my bike instead. AT least then I would be posting on the Rennlist Group Fitness thread!

I changed mine last weekend using the Bosch kit including the posi-locks and a plastic holder for four posi-locks.
The kit is easy to use, and in my opinion worth the $50 price tag instead of $20 for the bare sensor. The posi-locks and holder are reusable.
