Default Help needed removing a stuck O2 sensor.

I am in the process of removing the O2 sensor on my 944...however i cannot get the damn thing to budge. I have soaked it in screw loose, no go. I heated it with a torch as well...no go. I am using the boxed end of a wrench interlocked with another wrench (for more leverage) and just cannot get the damn thing loose. I know that they make a specfic socket just for this, but i cannot see how you would have enough clearance to fit a ratchet over the exhaust.

Any tips on removing this?...or should i keep soaking this thing in screw loose?

Heat it up til it's cherry and then soak it down with your favorite penetrating oil and then twist it right out. The Socket won't really help, it's a 7/8" socket with a slit in the side to run the wire through.

You need a Gay-Wand...

If you had a Gay-Wand it would be no problem becasuse breaking 02 sensors lo0se is the gay-wands specialty.

I would try this tool as long as it didn't have that name engraved on it. Don't know if I could take the "heat," if one of my buddies saw that in my toolbox

Heated with a propane torch for 20-30 seconds. Imediatley afterwards sprayed it with screw loose. Dont worry, it wont ignite...only vaporize when it hits the sensor. Spray it liberally...then give it a go with the wrench.

That managed to loosen it up...but it still took all my strength to get that thing loose. Im happy i wont have to do it for another 60k miles....

I hope you remembered to put anti-sieze compound on the new sensor.

I will get pictures of the "Gay-Wand" so you can all see the glory!

Its really just a joke but it is a pretty good tool. I think its one of the most used in my toolbox.

I don't know if I would call my most used tool "gay wand".
