I went to the Mobil1 website, and for a 944 turbo with 75Kmi. it reccommends Mobil1 Truck+SUV 5w40 I was thinking 5w40 would be the the weight it would pick. I dont know why they label it as just a truck and suv oil. Anyone object to 5w40? I've been using 15w50 but I was thinking of using something thats a little thinner when cold.

Is that what used to be Mobil Delvac One? 5W-40
I still have a gallon of that left from the days that I had a Mercedes Turbodiesel...
Delvac One was supposed to be the BEST diesel synth. oil...
Since my 951 uses oil between changes, I throw in that 5W-40whenever I need to top up.

No, the delvac is 15-40. I think the 5-40 would be a great winter oil to run but I would stick to the 15-40 mobil 1 either delvac or regular for the summer.

I ran that oil this winter (MN) to good effect. Pressure is good when hot. No bearings spun. Am switching to Amsoil racing 20w50 for summer and DE fun.
