Default Strange problem: loss of power and steering locks

This doesnt happen to me often, but it has happened about 3 times in the past few weeks. Occassionally when I start the car, I will pull out of a spot im in, and as i turn after that the steering wheel basically locks and the car like cuts out. The power is still on, but it's almost like the car stalled - i need to turn the car off and then back on to gain control again. I have no idea what causes it or what it could be, but i have had it happen in the past where if i turn very sharply and slowly the car will cut out/stall. Any ideas where to look?

If you mean the steering wheel locks up as in when the key is removed you need to pull the ignition switch tumblers and stuff out and inspect/clean. You just might be going around a corner and have it lock up.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts
and/or cam chain and tensioner?
