Not my cup of tea, and they are of course heavy, but not a bad price - $1

Who told you the evil lie that they are heavy? They are forged and are not that heavy. They were also a $3K plus option on the 944.

I have that style wheel on my 951, they're pretty light!
'one wheel took a beating'
Well, that does it for me, that and the $120 shipping

They are about 19-20 pounds each. I have a silver set w/o tires in the 944 offset.

Default I have them on my 951...

...and the 1st time i removed them to get at the brakes I nearly threw one onto the lawn expecting them to weigh as much as the wheels on my Audi. If other Porsche wheels are lighter than those, I am almost scared.

I had a polished set on my '85 928s and anodized on my '87 na944. They are not that heavy.
I wonder how much weight chrome adds to them?

I might jump on those. . . Even if they're rashed up they can be refinished or even painted. I don't care about whether they're bling bling chrome or not. I just want a set of proper offset wheels for my '85 and since those are from an '85 928 I imagine they'd work. I could pick up too.

928's do not run the right offset for early 944.

I thought those wheels were a factory option for the 944. I'm basing this on a catalog I have that lists them with a part # and everything.

Chrome looks great on white cars anyhow. Sewer dish wheels are so underrated. If I had late offset, I would have bought a set long ago, since they go for relatively cheap. (No, I dont want to deal with spacers)

All 928s have "late 944 offset." They were an option only on 87+ 944s.

"If other Porsche wheels are lighter than those, I am almost scared."

The 16x7/8" Fuchs weigh 15.5/16.5 lbs each.. Also the chrome-plating adds about 2-3 lbs per wheel.

For the '87+ cars they would work....

I'm painting mine right now with Graphite mettalic duplicolor. They are great wheels although a little homely. I have 6 of these beasts 2 16x7 and 4 16x8. All 52.3mm offset, which seems to be only different from the 928 wheels that I believe have a different offset for the fronts.

I don't think they are chromed either, just polished so shiney that I could use them for shaving.

Too bad - I was hoping to pick up a set for the early car. Finding early offset wheels is getting damn near impossible, although it might be better to just get spacers and run late offset wheels, then if I ever upgrade the spindles to '87+ then I'll not have to worry about it.
