Default HELP! need diagnosis.

BradN901CB: ok
BradN901CB: got another computer
campeck944: one sec
campeck944: boostin 1BAR 951: at least you didn't blow a dog

boostin 1BAR 951: what happened?
campeck944: i was at the gtg
campeck944: very spirited driving
campeck944: no redline
campeck944: just lots of flooring
campeck944: and after the first strecth
campeck944: i parked
campeck944: turned off car
campeck944: ...20 min later
campeck944: group is leaving
campeck944: i go to start car....nope

campeck944: campeck944: no go
campeck944: an hour later
campeck944: it starts
campeck944: first on 2 cylinders..then 3..then 4
campeck944: and SMOKE..blue smoke
campeck944: a fogger for like 5 min

campeck944: boostin 1BAR 951: damn
campeck944: ....
campeck944: then
campeck944: car runs fine

boostin 1BAR 951: hmm
campeck944: m,akes a weird clicking noise that wasnt the re before
campeck944: idle
campeck944: is eradic
campeck944: when cold
campeck944: 500 rpmp
campeck944: when hot
campeck944: 1,200
campeck944: and the clicking
campeck944: boostin 1BAR 951: oh my
campeck944: i think its a ring smacking the piston
campeck944: when it goes up and down
campeck944: ....

boostin 1BAR 951: ehhh
boostin 1BAR 951: have you pulled the belt covers off yet?
BradN901CB: hah
BradN901CB: nice
BradN901CB: did you go to the g2g by yourself?
BradN901CB: is it running ok now?
BradN901CB: did you do a compression test yet?
campeck944: i truns and has the same power
campeck944: bu the idles weird and the clicking....
campeck944: its bad
campeck944: no
campeck944: went with dad
campeck944: he in his car

BradN901CB: does it still smoke?
campeck944: no
campeck944: im thinking the bad ring
campeck944: let oil in the chamber
campeck944: and flooded it
campeck944: then when it started

BradN901CB: I'm wondering if it could be an exhaust leak or something
campeck944: it burned it all off
BradN901CB: a ring won't leak oil into the cylinder unless the engine is running
BradN901CB: it can't drip up :P
BradN901CB: a valve seal can do that, but it would probably not be clicking and it wouldn't affect idle
BradN901CB: just make it smoke on start
campeck944: so wtf is wrong with my caaaaaaar?
BradN901CB: dunno
BradN901CB: do a compression test first
BradN901CB: then try to figure out where the ticking is coming from
BradN901CB: ticking could be lots of stuff
BradN901CB: I doubt its a ring issue cause it probably would have already seized
campeck944: does it have to be cold or warm?
campeck944: the engine?

BradN901CB: cold is fine
BradN901CB: you are just looking for a difference between cylinders
BradN901CB: make sure throttle is wide open
campeck944: but cold the pistons arntwell sealed
BradN901CB: and pull the dme relay and the coil wire
BradN901CB: do it cold
campeck944: ya
campeck944: ok

BradN901CB: it won't be perfect, but definately good enough to see if one cylinder is way off

If it ticks, listen on each cyl with stetoscope or rubber hose to see if ticking on all cyls or just one. Maybe the timing belt jumped one teeth? One burnt valve? Or a shot valve spring? Or a blown head gasket? check your water reservoir. See if milky white substance is in the water..looks like vaseline. If your head gasket blew, it would explian the blue smoke as oil may be seeping into cylinders.

Keep posting what you find.

I don't see any major issue with those compression test results. The low idle on cold and high idle on hot resulted for me in a torn intake boot. Check also for vacuum leaks too. I remember I started my 928 one time and blue smoke came out, but a little bit not a complete flood of it. Maybe some oil blew by a valve guide for some reasons relating to temperatures (metal possibly shrinking faster)

yeah. I hope it was just a frieking out valve seal or something.
Ill just leave the car running to cool it down after hard runs next time.

Im getting a new idle stabilizer valve and associated hoses from paragon. hopefully that's whats up with the idle.

thanks.
