I'm quite surprise by this as I've read about CS cornering
very flat & at the same time have sharp response.
So, we're looking at 160lbs F & 165lbs R with MO30 sway bars.
I've never rode in one with this set-up. Can you advice on
how the handling is like ?

Thanks pete

I'd say that 968 guys should comment on this,I've never driven a 968 with M030 suspension.
But what I know about 951s is that amost doubling rear spring rate should lessen rear ( and total ) body roll....so deep the std rear suspension bows in hard cornering.

Depending on where you've read that.
Period press articles I know of make little mention, if not none, to the suspension specs of the CS compared to the Lux's, leaving readers in a haze suggesting the CS is "way better" in the suspension dept than the Lux, which it is not, at least with the standard suspension. I have those blue dots CS springs with M474 Konis on my S2 and although it's a quite good set up for the road, it's far from the 944 or 968 M030 set up in terms of outright efficiency.
Perhaps some of the press cars were CS with M030 (which journalists did not precise), and those would obviously have handled better than any given Lux without M030.

Greg : thank you

Hi Thom,
Isn't the CS with M030 refers to the inclusion of
sway bars only ? I also find it hard to grasp the
idea of having almost the same spring rates for the F & R &. Does it not nose dive under heavy
braking conditions. Do you think I could keep the
same balance by scaling up the spring rate to
lets say 200lbs F & equivalent springs rates for
the rears with M 030 sway bars ? Don't worry
about shock valving. I'm using adjustable shocks.

Hi J Chen,

The 968 M030 spec includes, over the standard 968 suspension specs, not only bigger sway bars but also double adjutable, height adjustable front Koni shocks (looking the same as those from 944 M030 but with stiffer valving), the specific front springs, single adjustable rear Koni shocks with helper springs, 951 S front brake calipers, cross-drilled rotors all round and specific brake lines.

The 28 N/mm stiffness of 968 springs is IMHO "ok" for fast road use but the nose will dive under very heavy braking, as in emergency braking, less so if the car has M030 Konis (which have a stiffer valving than both the stock F&S shocks or M474 Konis, no matter how they are adjusted).

200 lbs/ft (= ~35.1 N/mm) front springs + 968 M030 sway bars + adjustable shocks sound good to me.
Some like their cars rock hard and will probably say 200 lbs/ft is not stiff enough but for what I would call "realistic fast road use on roads in various states" (in my case ranging from very good to very average) I wouldn't personally use springs any stiffer.

Hi Thom,
Thanks for the advice. Yes we have lots of average roads.
Right now running with 300lbs front & 400 lbs rear with no
T Bar. Too stiff for my taste. About the rear spring, do you
think that I should match the spring rate of 200lbs for the
front or should I go a little lower ?

Hi J Chen,
Apart from the Turbo Cup set up I have no experience with rear springs and have little idea how their stiffness impacts on the overall handling. Sorry !
