I wouldn't mind a set, providing they are lightweight!

I think it's amazing how many wheels there are that are SO similar to the "Cup1" aka "C2" Porsche 5spoke wheels.

I went to the SPeedline site to look for them. They are definitely MIA on their inventory page.

Thanks Rich. The 5 spoke on there is really thick. Aribop those are the 16" version I initially wanted for my 944 before I realized the 86 offset was the same as the 84! Those sure are clean wheels though!

Thanks everyone for the replies to help ID this rim. I think we can now call this the Mystery Wheel of the Porsche community

Porsche used two different CUP wheels on the 968. there was a narrow spoke (web) and a wide spoke (web) design. The technical information and pictures of the two wheels is in one of the 968 WKD- specification books. I should have the document at home if I can find it.

The two different designs in question refer to a "cast" versus another type, both are 17-inch. The two are:
Option Code M398: cup wheel, 17 inches (7.5J 993.362.124.05.61M and 9J 993.362.128.00.61M)
Option Code M403 cast wheel "cup", 17 inches (7.5J 965.362.124.05 and 9J 965.362.128.00.61M)

Yep, those look the same, except for the "cup" wheels are magnesium. They both look like C2 wheels.

Those wheels are no mystery. They are the 16" wheels commonly found on the 968 when specified with 16" wheels. EDIT: Nevermind, I see that they are 17's now that I lightened the photo and can read the tire size on the sidewall. Let me officially say "I dunno".

I remember a set of those being on a car featured in Excellence. It was a grey 951 with the airfilter actually coming out of the fender. My money is with Matt - They are replicas. Not bad looking however...

Time for a recap - this thread is all over the place.

1. The original wheel Stig listed is the same set I have on my 928.
2. They are made in Japan
3. Out of production for at least 10 years - when my friend bought mine in 95, they were already being closed out by The Tire Rack. He's pissed he didn't order all 3 sets they had in stock.
4. I think the brand name is "ACT" or something like that. I'll try and scan in their logo tonight.
