I think it's yours, for 1/2" I either use the torque wrench or the breaker bar or a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter, don't have a 1/2" simple drive (but I'll gladly take one if you have a spare).

If its mine, I need it. You know what the condition of my tool mess is though. I need to clean them up!

Definitely not mine -- I don't use 1/2" generally.

So how about this:
When -- this Sunday, 10am
Where -- Long Beach, I guess either Jeff's place where there's lot of tools or Legoland where there's ungodly amount of space (which?)

I'll bring the R12, but I only have basic AC tools (enough to recharge -- I've done it once on my own car two years ago) -- someone bring jumper cables (handy for checking if the compressor clutch is working).

I paid something like $15 per can of R12 awhile back -- which seems to be the going rate for a can of R12 on eBay these days.... Depending on how low you are, you'll probably use one to two cans. I'd appreciate it if you guys pitch in for whatever you use (I'll take cash, beer, car parts or future good will karma).

my ac worked when i bought the car, amazingly, then after winter it didnt work. It still doesnt work, think it just needs recharge? I mean, i don't want to waste the r 12 if its just going to leak. I geuss if the ac doesnt work after a few months i know i need to change the seals, or spring for an ac delete bracket.

Eyal, unless you have a big leak, refrigerant doesn't just disappear. And if you do have a big leak, you shouldn't recharge it. Maybe you have a bad A/C relay or something -- we'll take a look and see what we find.

actually, last winter is when it went down for turbo... since then it really hasnt seen much use, let alone a chance for the ac to be used, so it probably hasnt really been used in more then a year. We'll take a look!

Kelly, I am not sure whether I am moving there or not. Its a place I got mostly just to keep from having to move all my toys around for street sweeping. Got the forklift, now the 2 post car lift....

If you need a lift or something let me know. . .

Yeah, what joe said. Refrigerant doesn't just "disappear" and it's illegal to put new r12 into a system that's known to be leaking. The stuff is environmentally pretty nasty so it's got to be handled properly and recovered. Anyway glad to hear your car is working. I'll have to see it with my own eyes!

The silver one still has to be charged up from the hose that blew out at your place that time - I've since changed the hose and everything, just need to slap the new R/D on it, vaccum & leak-test it, and charge it. Everything else should be good to go.

On the 951 the compressor is bad. Remember the "snapping alternator belts" problem I had when I first got it? Turned out the culprit was the a/c clutch & pulley assembly. I bought a new one and installed it TO THE LETTER of the manual's instructions, but still succeeded in getting all the refrigerant to "pssshhhht" right out the front seal of the compressor. From what I've been told those carbon-faced seals are extremely finicky and will leak / blow if you so much as look at 'em funny. Anyway, that's what happened. I have another compressor from Todd that he says came out of a car with working a/c, so I'm going to hook that one up, replace the R/D, vaccum, leak-test, and charge that one. It isn't much work, but the big problem is finding the time to get a place to vaccum & test it (it's also not cheap - about $75 to $100 just for that), and then of course there's the cost of the refrigerant, but that brings us to here. . .

Anyway - it'll be good to see your car. Where are we doing this? My place or Lego's? I'm hella busy today and can't coordinate it all, but either is fine by me.

My vote -- if it's okay -- would be at Lego's new space (more because I'd be curious as to what it's about). But people would have to bring stuff, like tools and so forth, except maybe a floor jack - we can use the forklift instead!

Though Jeff's place has coffee....

I can go whichever -- you guys should decide since I'm going to be out of touch all of tomorrow.

I don't know where Lego's new place is - only his old one. I guess just head to my place and we can figure it out from there; I probably won't have time to call him until tomorrow AM.
