Hiya guys,
Here are pictures of the new Porsche "Panamera", a brand new 4 door Porsche with the 928 engine. The body of the text reads:
It seems that everyone will soon have a sleek four-door that they'll call a coupe, and apparently Porsche is no exception. Porsche has recently registered the name Panamera, and it's expected to be the name of a new concept to be shown next fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It could also be the name of a similar production vehicle expected for the 2008 calendar year. The Panamera will be built at the Leipzig factory alongside the Cayenne, and sources are estimating an annual production of nearly 20,000 units. The sleek rear-wheel-drive four-seater will be powered by Porsche's 4.5-liter V-8 - either the 340-horsepower version, or the optional 450-horsepower turbocharged engine. A hot 500-horsepower version may eventually follow. The new chassis may be shared with Volkswagen in an arrangement similar to the one that spawned the Cayenne
Enjoy the pics everyone

Are you sure about this having the 928 engine? Seems like after discontinuing the 928 and 944 they would then be admitting a mistake by resurrecting the old engines.
If they are going to produce more 928 engines then what about 944 engines???

The core will be (well.....it sez here) based on the 928. The rest of the engine will obviously be brand new, but I suspect they will plop the "8" from the Cayenne into it, just to save $ on R&D. They will obviously modify it. As far as our beloved 944/951 engine, we can forget about it. Porsche doesn't do "4's" anymore.

you know you can tell a photoshop when you see that there are no palm trees in Germany unless someone around Zuffenhaus wanted to make the shrubbery there like the state of Hawaii ![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
I do believe Porsche is working on a 4-door, but am hoping it doesn't hit the market and that this next 928 stays a 2-door just like it's ancestor.

They should consider changing the front end on at least one of their cars so they don't all look like the 911 so much. Given, it's a great looking car, but DIFFERENTIATION does matter when buying a car.

I think we can all agree it photochopped.
Will be interesting to see it as well as the "cayman" devolop. Even though they have crap names and they prove that Porsche has plenty of funds to go back to racing.

I don't know if it's been photochopped. This web site is a pretty good source for automotive magazines. I can see the details of the braking system through the wheels fine enough though, and the shading seems correct.

It will not use a 928 engine with the Cayanne V8 already in production. Then again, there are some publications that think the Cayanne V8 is the 928 engine so it shouldn't suprise me what some hack publications print.

It's definitely been photochopped.
The side photo is exactly like one that came out a few months ago with one important difference.
The handle on that earlier photo was at the leading edge of the rear door, making it a suicide door.
