Question Need Pics of Hood options: CF, Fiber, etc...

My ride is (hopefully) halfway through its transformation at the mechanic, and the next step is the exterior. Ive been looking at the CF hoods at GT racing but Ive heard some concerns about the fitment, and how would a natural CF hood look on a black car? Too rice? Also , there was a post a while back about a CF hood with moulded in louvers like on the 968 race car...

Would fiberglass be a better choice? Or stick with stock? Pics and comments please!

Talk to The Racers Group, I got mine about 2 yrs ago, been outside most of the time too. It's holding up fine, fitment is great along with finish in raw CF. It's foam core and roughly 10-15lbs. It cost me 699 for it and 812 to the door.

CF hood will also be the better choice. Fiberimages might make one , not positive though.

Who is TRG?

Fiber Images is a joke...product is OK, if you don't mind waiting a YEAR to get your parts. No, I'm not eggagerating. They've burned people on group buys before, and my company won't carry their stuff because they don't have their **** together on the business end of things. Bummer.

I also have a black car, and I am interested in a natural finish C/F hood. Anyone here handy with Photochop? WHat kinds of prices have you seen for 944 C/F hoods?

It isn't CF, but I have an A.I.R. fiberglass hood. I'd say that fitment sucks there too. I'll eventually get it hammered out to where it fits right, but it really isn't a true bolt-on unless I just got a bad apple from them.

The Racers Group is where I got mine from, TRG. They had them listed, but all the pics were of a stock looking red 951 IIRC.

Oh, BTW, try calling them, they will most likey make one for you, probably not a huge seller and they don't want to waste web space. They had to make mine for me, I don't beleive they stock them. It took them a week and I told them I wanted it to be finished good enough to stay raw CF. When I talked to them they were looking into options for inlet or outlet scoupes also. They said most likely it would be done as a bolt on after the fact kind of option.
