I read Brock Yates book on the Cannonball Sea to shining Sea inaugural Trophy Dash. Great book.
I think the record from The Red Ball garage in New York to Huntington Beach was like 38 hours and some change. I will check tonight confirm.
Congradulations on the trip. Can't wait to see the video.

Awesome guys. . . I'm so happy the "old girl" made it for ya'. I think she's proven herself and FWIW I had a feeling she'd pull through. She's mechanically very sound (as you no doubt discovered) but just needs a loving home. I hope you guys can bring her back to being a pretty 924 as well as a well-travelled and "solid" 924.
Congrats guys - I don't envy those marathon driving sessions. . . BTDT. Great experience I'm sure though. Congrats!
BTW what's the best way to nominate a video like that for an independent film showing?

Wow - that movie was neat!
Good images.
A few years ago, my uncle and I made it from Anchorage, Alaska to Cleveland, Ohio in around 72 hours. I wish I had a video camera for that!
Cheers,

That car sounds like a bus/truck at highway speeds!
I think they had a lot of courage to shut the car off at several points in the middle of nowhere. If I were doing a trip like this, I would probably fill the car up with the engine running.
They should have spray-painted something on the side of the car.

What a cool trip. I can't imagine how cold it must have been with no heat.
For what it is worth. The record for the Cannonball was 32:51 set in 1979 by Dave Heinz in a Jag XJS 2863 miles. Average speed of over 86 MPH.
I have one question.
What prompted you guys to do this?

And the funny thing is, we both didn't realize that "Sea to Shining Sea" was part of the cannonball run's name, or that we were taking a similar route. Compared to them we were much slower, but then they probably had cars that didn't top out at 85mph in the flats (and a bit lower in the hills.) :P
At some point we'll probably make a longer/better version of the movie. The contest rules required it be no longer than 5minutes, and made in iMovie (which is nearly incapable of handling audio editing.)
