a friend on my SAE team. he already had a 944 NA and wanted to go with the 944 turbo. so i sold it to him. i still see the car everyday and we are planning on building a cage for it and doing other race prep work which the car was on the path for anyway.
AZS2, so if your looking for excusivity, you shouldn't have purchased a 944. there are far more in the us then evos. there are more boxsters in my company parking lot then evos (3 vs 1), and i see porsches on the road more often the evos and far more often then STI's. do you by chance work at an STI production facility?

your the one who pointed out that you don't like STI's because you see them all the time. i pointed out that production numbers for these cars (evos and sti's) are less then 944's.

F*ck. It's sh*t like this that makes people not want to contribute much anymore here. Children, take your little fight out onto the playground tomorrow at lunchtime. Drama has no place here. Jeezuss H Crimony.

So the 944 is the more exclusive car in my immediate area!

EVO's are cool cars a Co-Woker of mine had a black one, I drove it a couple times to get lunch and it drove great and had good speed. He also drove my 944 and was very suprise to find out that it was 80's car. I like EVO's but for what you pay for a loaded one you can get something better at that price IMO.
I live in the Bay Area and comute to and from work in a hour, and I see Evo's and many "RICED OUT" regular lancers that look very similar so I would say Lancers are a lot more comon. I do see a 2 or 3 944's a week but thats beacuse I work in Palo Atlo where everyone and their mothers own a Porsche. For looks I say a clean 944 turns more heads than a Lancer, I mean a Lancer has 4 doors.
A 80's 944 can compare fairly against a brand new Evo and cost a fraction of the price so IMO a Evo loses points on that. Plus 25,000 means endless mods for a 944 you wont even be able to mod a Evo if you want to keep the warranty.
To be fair try to compare any stock 86's Mitsu VS a 86' 944t, or a stock 05' Mitsu VS a 05' Porsche.

944 was THE benchmark for handling in the 80's....i'll repeat....EIGHTY'S....to consider comparing it to a sportscar today is a major compliment to it...however you just can't compare the two fairly...we should just leave it as the 944 handled great then and great now, and no matter how crappy you think the mitsu is, it's a fast car in all respects.

haha i don't know why i try sometimes. on the evo forums/sixspeedonline they are arguing with the 996 guys about who is better. my point is the evo does get compared to brand new 05 porsches all the time. in fact i would take the evo over a boxster anyday, which is about 20k more then the evo. that is alot of mods for a car that is already faster and handles just as well/better(and much more practical).
as for a 80's mitsubishi vs a 80's 944 turbo? how about i get a 1st gen eclipse GSX and get the new purchase price difference in mods on the GSX. then we race? sound fair? the GSX with 20k in mods would smash the 944 turbo, sure it doesn't have the porsche badge on the front of it, but that doesn't mean it is slow.
i'm sorry to say guys, if you buying a new porsche, with the money spent you can find something pretty good for much cheaper and with the price difference, completely destroy any porsche. just like modding a 944 turbo, of course with 20k in mods it will beat an evo. start adding up your reciepts, i'm sure some of you are damn close even without mods, just purchase price/maintance alone.
