Very nice. How long did it take you to mask them?

patrat, that's what I want to do (black centers and polished lip...my car is black).

I'd love to hear some tips since I have no idea what is required!

It will still be a few month till I get them on the car. Just did koni front strut conversions with stiffer springs and one stiffer rear torsion bar. One more to go then some other stuff.

Very nice. Graphite phone dials with a polished lip are what I have always wanted to do to my powder coated wheels. I'm sure there are others very interested in similiar projects, so if you could post what the procedure was or at the very least the materials used.

Also did you paint the centercaps yourself?

Very nice... I hope you have better luck than me with the paint holding up. I painted and clear coated
all 4 of mine silver early last spring. So they had all summer and fall to cure. Looked great and had no problems. Even held up to new tire installation. Until this winter. We had a couple of very cold (for NC anyway) nights in the teens and my clear coat on all 4 wheels cracked. They all have 'spider web' cracks.

I used Duplicor spray cans. Just grabbed some of the clear and one of the graphite looking colors. Oh, I mean Anthracite! All the aftermarket wheels are coming in the anthracite now. I did some different taping on the wheels. The last wheel I finished the other night was a bit different from the firs three. I did all these with the tires still on. I taped the tires and just made sure the tape went behind the lip of the wheel. That was pretty easy and then taped some newspaper to the tape to cover the tires. I sprayed some duplicolor silver on the lip area only. There was overspray to the center but so what, the graphite will cover it. After about 10 minutes of drying I sprayed 2 light coats of clear. The can says the clear has to go on within 2 hours. I let that stay for a few weeks as other stuff in lfe took over as ot does. This Friday night I started taping up the side of the lip to where I wanted the graphite to be. It won't be exact and its not 100% perect close up but its good enough for me. That took me about 30-40 minutes then 10 to attach some newspaper so the lip won't get any graphite on. A few coats of the graphite and then the clear and I'm done. taping is the longest and the first wheel was the longest to tape but it goes quicker with every wheel. I think I primed the first one I did back in October but didn't even prime on the rest of them. i bought these wheels 3 years ago and repainted with the griots garage paint. It was OK but its not exactly stock looking. Some I stripped with the store bought chemical stuff and some I just sanded by hand. Here are some more pics although these are of how I did it the first time and this is the first wheel. Here is my dirty car back when I did the first wheel with track grime on and the wheel leaning against it.
