Default Wierd Idle Issue

Searched, nothing found - here's the issue:

After the car is warm, and I stop at an intersection, the car idles at about 1100RPMs. Then it drops to about 750RPMs for a second, then right back up to 1100. It does this rhythmically evey few seconds. If I tap the accelerator, it stops until the next time I'm at a stop light. It's pretty annoying. What do I need to adjust/replace?

TIA - Jonathan

Take back part of that.... I just drove the car again, and tapping the accelerator does nothing... continues to pulse...

Under the intake, you can take it out without removeing the intake (like i did) and clean it out with engine degreaser.

remove the plug wires to gain more "room" since the mounting bracket gets in the way or virtually everything.

That hunting idle is a sign of a leak somewhere after the throttle-body...

Check to be sure your throttle cable is not too tight. I put mine back too tight and it acted kind of like you describe.

Mine does exactly the same thing. After driving for a while and stopping at a stop sign or to park in the parking lot. When it's not doing that, it regularly hunts for + or - 100 RPM while at idle. It seems to be worse when the air temperature is 25 F or less. I hope somebody can figure it out.

Vacuum line or intake manifold gaskets. Look to see if the gasket has squished out from under the maniforld. You can listen for it with a piece of small tubing with one end in your ear, like MDs do.

I had a similar issue when I pulled the plug on my O2 sensor. It returned to a steady idle when I plugged it back in.
