Default My 1985.5 Porsche 944

Hey Guys/Gals

I'm a new member here. Just wanted to share pics of my very first sportscar. I can't believe I waited this long to buy my first Porsche. What a car.

Here's a little description of my car.

85.5 Porsche 944
-75K miles.
-Borla ProXS muffler, Sebring tip, performance resonator. I still can't believe the piping was already 2 1/4" Stainless Steel. My friends were right...the Germans usually do it right the first time
-Everything else stock and in execellent condition.
-No tears in the seats, car was babied
-Cost: Free, from father in law

Here's a few problems with the car.

A/C doesnt work
Speedo and tach seem to be "stuck" until after a few miles per hour, and then it will kick in.

Other than that, the car runs great. Gotta love rear wheel drive and 50/50 weight distribution.

I'm looking forward to being a member on this site. Thanks

P.S I had to brighten up the pictures a little because it was taken in a shaded area. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to take better pictures.

Thanks for the replies! I love this car. Its in pristine condition in my opinion. I entered it at the people's choice contest at the German Autofest, Ventura CA. Its my weekend driver right now. I remember about a month ago, I was planning on selling it to buy a family car (baby is on the way), but when I got in the car and started driving it around for a few minutes, I thought, wow, what a beautiful car. No way I'm selling this baby! lol

Welcome aboard.

Wow, nice car. Are those wheels refinished or polished?

I know this may be hard to believe, but that is the original finish on the wheels. Also, there is no road rash whatsoever on these wheel. I think I saw a tiny tiny tiny scratch and paint chip on ONE of the wheels, but that's it. This is further proof that my father in law babied this car. The car was driven daily for the first 5 years of ownership, but NEVER driven in the rain, and of course, always garaged.

For the past 4 years, there has been a total of 4K miles added to the car.

What else can you say?

Your father in law must really think a lot of you to give you such a nice 944. There's not a dent to be seen in those door panels. How are the dash and seats?

Just think, when you begin pouring money into it you can tell your wife that you're just preserving her dad's legacy.

Have fun and enjoy your new ride.

Sincerely,
Rick

Thanks Rick. I'll take pics of the inside soon. The inside is in excellent condition. The seats have no tears whatsoever. The dash has a small hairline crack, that developed over the year. Hardly noticeable. Inside is all original. Its a beauty for sure. You're almost right about the dents. There are no dents on both sides of the car. But there is a small, again you can't even see it unless I point it out to you, on the hood. Its so small its hardly even worth mentioning.

Everytime I drive it, I feel proud. I definitely got lucky with this car. You could say my father in law gave this to me as a wedding gift.
