924S
Hi All. I was just offered a 81 /82 ( I dont recall ) 924S for 2K
I went and looked at it and on a scale of 1 to 10 the body is a 9 and the int. is a 9.5. I mean this this was pampered.
She is Silver in collor. 116K miles on it.
I have 2 928's but know nothing of the 924's
What should I look for as potential poblem if I decide to pick this car up?
Thanks.
Thurston.

It's a 924s (924 w/suspension package), or a 924S ('87/'88 only, more or less a 944 w/narrow fenders)?
The 924s seem to be pretty easy to work on. And it's a non-interferance engine so if the timing belt breaks you just walk for awhile. Check out http://www.924board.org - lots of 924 info there.

$2k is one pristine 924. Problems that normally come up with the 924 are leaky sunroof seals/ drains, leaky battery tray, and cracked dashes. Mechanically if it runs now and you keep driving it fairly often it'll keep on running fine. When left sitting for long periods of time fuel varnishes in the tank clogging the pump up and the small passages on the fuel distributor. The only other thing I can think of that is prone to failure on the 924 is the control pressure regulator.
