Default clear lenses

I don't know if this would be of interest to anyone and I don't know the guy so I'll let you decide for yourself....

"Hi, I was browsing ebay and noticed the outrageous prices you guys have to pay for clear lenses for your porsches. We specialize in making clear lenses of all kinds for any type of vehicule. all we need is a stock lens to start with. i found some 944 and 968 side markers for 225$ on ebay, for a set of 4. i could easily make those for you guys at 100$ for the 4 lens. you guys get back to me if you are interested. www.klearz.com info@klearz.com"

Go for it, I agree we are getting reamed for clear lenses. I'd pay a $100 for a set in a heartbeat. Just a heads up, any group buy needs to be run through John D., the site owner for approval.

$100 for a set? SOLD.
if it includes the 4 marker lights, and front turn signals for a 951.

Just curious, but why does a group buy need to be run by John D.? And what exactly is a group buy anyway? Are my battery cables and headlights a "group buy" I'm supposed to get permission for? If so, John and Jenn have been a bit remiss in not kicking my butt during the last 4 years.

This sounds like it is a small project for those that don't have clear lenses and want them at a lower cost than the Swedes are offering.

Who knows about quality, or it could turn out to be a disaster and Rennlisters lose some money but that is a risk you take on lots of purchases. And why you get warm fuzzy feelings when you deal with a supplier that people have good things to say about.

You have a history here. It's not like you are selling valve caps. The poster is kind of new here; you're not. I really don't care myself.

We should revive that thread and see who can make the funniest jokes. That was one of the craziest ideas that ever occured here and is an urban legend in car chat forums now.

I was actually toying getting in on that but I have stainless steel valve stems, not rubber, and he would never give me a straight answer on the cap dimensions. So I passed. Another $10 saved.

Please remember that I have no connection to this seller. I just thought the info may be interesting to some.

Nothing to apologize about; all you did was post a great link. I misread your opening line and should have kept my mouth shut as usual; for that I'm sorry and do apologize. So has anyone contacted that company to see if these will be available in the near future?
